HELP TITLE MY NEXT BOOK

By Caroline Clemmons

Didn’t you love Jacquie Rogers’ post on the 4th? Of course, I love her writing, so I’m partial, but I believe she gave readers a good idea of what writers do. Certainly, she’s a busy woman with multiple projects going.

I also have lots of stories churning in my head. Right now I’m finishing WINTER BRIDE in my Stone Mountain Texas series while I research for book two in the McClintock series to follow THE TEXAN’S IRISH BRIDE. Although the series is called The McClintocks, book two is not about anyone named McClintock.

Cover features a representation of
Cenora O'Neill McClintock
Finn O’Neill is the brother of Cenora McClintock and brother-in-law of Dallas McClintock. Finn’s going to be doing some undercover work in a Texas coal mine. I’ll bet most people didn’t know there were coal mines in Texas, but there were in several areas of the state.

The McClintock family lives in the Central Texas Hill Country near Bandera and Medina. Book two takes place about a day’s ride away. Usually I have no trouble with a title for my books, but so far I have nothing for Finn's book. Nada. Zip. Zero. I need a title! Can you help?

Here’s the plot line:

Finn O’Neill was born in Ireland and still has a good bit of a brogue. He’s asked to help out a McClintock family friend whose coal mine is the victim of dangerous “accidents”. The heroine is Stella Grace Clayton. She and her sister Nettie Sue and brother Lance are the daughter of a miner, Council Clayton, who is suspected of creating the so-called accidents. Of course, Finn will vindicate Mr. Clayton and find the real culprit. In the meantime, Finn and Stella will fall in love. I love a romance, don’t you? Probably because I have a devious mind, I also like some crime thrown in for good measure.

As I mentioned above, the first McClintock book is THE TEXAN’S IRISH BRIDE. I thought maybe something with Texas and Irish in it would be good for book two, but I just can’t come up with a title. If you have a suggestion, please let me know in a comment here or by email to caroline@carolineclemmons.com

  2. Finn's Texan Bride (keeping with the Texas Bride theme). I'm terrible with titles.

  4. Caroline, how about something with Irish Groom in it?
