Love, Christmas 2: Holiday Movies You Love

Today's post is short and sweet because I just got home from an extended trip to visit family.

This trip was to welcome my sister-in-law home after a month in the hospital, preceded by emergency surgery.

Even though it is going to be a long road to recovery--and there will be another surgery in the spring--I'm pleased to report she's doing well and is in good spirits. My brother is trying to catch up on his sleep.

A lot happened while I was gone which means I'm woefully behind on just about everything. Is your life like that? Go away for a week or two and spend the next month trying to catch up?

A couple of days ago, Paty Jager blogged about how she organizes her work. I'll toss in my cents about staying on top of multiple projects. This is a good organizational tip for anyone overwhelmed with lots of projects--writing or something completely different. Make a timeline file.

Timeline To Stay On Time

I set up a timeline by chronological date starting in January. I listed all dates in order, pulling the information from the contracts: dates formatted manuscripts are due, dates signed contracts should be returned, ad money paid, pre-release dates, publication dates, etc.

As I complete one of the tasks, I strike through it with a bright yellow highlighter. What a feeling of accomplishment.

So far, I'm keeping up. As Unforgettable Suspense: Hot and Dangerous publishes on March 20, I've already submitted my formatted manuscript for Box Set #3, and I'm working on my submission for #4.

Whew! Wish me luck with keeping up with the rest of the box sets plus write my planned novels, novellas, and short stories! Ack! Makes me tired just thinking about it so I'll stop thinking about it and tell you more about Unforgettable Suspense: Hot and Dangerous.

A Christmas Gift of Sorts by Paty Jager

The past twelve months I have had a new, fun experience with being in a box set. I've been in several over the years, but this is the first time that I've found success and enjoyed the whole process.

I think the first thing that makes this fun, is I've been writing new novellas in a new series that go in each box set. It's in a genre, contemporary western romance, that I had success in early in my career but then dropped writing in this genre. I've found getting back into this genre and using what I've learned about writing series I'm having a wonderful time being in these box sets.

The second thing I like is that there are only 6 authors per box set and we all write the western lifestyle and actually know the difference between the withers and the flank on a horse and Angus and Hereford cattle.
