THIS WEEK'S WORD - Match the meanings to the words!

Hello again, and thanks so much for dropping by SMART GIRLS READ ROMANCE. It's time for This Week's Word but today we're going to try something new.

I've listed the meanings to nine words, and below the meanings, I listed nine words. See if you can match the meanings to the words. WARNING: Only for the serious wordsmiths, Mensa members (lol) or those who just want to broaden their vocabulary. .

I have to admit, most of the words I'd never heard of but I'm so glad I learned their meanings. So, be a good sport and give it a go. Just think how smart you'll be when you write or read about "hongi".

Here's this week's book - A GHOST TO DIE FOR by Keta Diablo

About the book:
Contemporary Romance/Paranormal

Do you believe in ghosts? Rooney Fontaine doesn't—or didn't until one named Stuart Granger shows up in her hotel room. Now the humorous, yet desperate, apparition is begging her to find the men who murdered him before his brother becomes their next victim.

After serving three tours in Afghanistan and one in Iraq, Stephan Granger is no stranger to risk and peril. When a woman shows up at his house rambling about ghosts, murder and assassins, his first inclination is to deem her wrong in the head and send her packing. But how does she know things that happened to him and his dear departed brother in their childhoods, secrets they never shared with anyone?

Soon after he invites her in to hear more about what really happened to Stuart, gunfire splits the air and shatters all the windows in the house. Someone is trying to kill them. Now they're on the run from assassins while trying to find out who killed his brother and why they want him dead too.

Even amid murder and mayhem, sometimes you find love.

  1. You stumped me, Keta. I hope I can remember the words. Your posts on words gave me a great (I hope) idea for one of the characters in my current WIP. Thank you! GHOST TO DIE FOR sounds compelling.

  2. I only knew 1—fugacious. Don't even know why I knew it. Probably read it once upon a time and memorized it. This reminds me of the online Rice game. Years ago I would drop by the website every few days. Lots of fun, Keta. Thanks.

  3. I knew 4, guess the others and got two mixed up. Great post.
