Boy Band Mania by Laura Hunsaker

This week, I'm taking my girls to see BTS in Vegas!

It's going to be so exciting! And while I was chatting excitedly with a friend, she made a comment that I was too old to like KPop and all I could reply with was that she had just seen Backstreet Boys at the Sphere, so...KPop vs Boyband Pop?

Is it really so hard to believe?

And she told me that it must be a guilty pleasure of mine. I have no guilty pleasures. Mine are loud and proud!

I feel like that about Romance novels as well. I hate when people call them guilty pleasures. No, I don't in any way feel guilty about reading Romance. Hopefully you don't either!

But I guess here is the place to say that I love KPop! I'm so excited for the BTS concert this week, and if any of my other favorite bands come, I'd like to go to their shows too!

I should update this post with pics from the show later this week!

I think, especially right now, when the world is, well, how it is...no one should feel guilty about whatever their form of joy is. The world needs more joy, more whimsy.

So share with me your joy! Is it your same playlist from your youth? Is it a new one? Mine lately is all Stray Kids and BTS. Is it a new genre of novel you like? Or if you saw my post last month, is it a new hobby?

I wanna know! And trusts me, I'm going to be insufferable about BTS on Friday after the concert, so if you want to see me crash out about the show, find me on Insta and Threads! But I'll update here too :)

In the meantime, my heroine Lark is full of whimsy and definitely doesn't believe in guilty pleasures; like what you like!

She would have loved KPop, and I'm bummed I didn't think to add that into her story. You should read about her! I think you'd enjoy the fact that she finds joy in simple things like rescuing worms and taking her dogs on a walk on the beach.

She’s running from her past…

Lark Seawell is the daughter of a serial killer. His reputation has long been a shadow looming over her since his arrest when she was a child. Especially since she’s the one who called the police. She has spent her entire life trying to live as anonymously and quietly as possible. She is not her father’s legacy.

He wants to be her future...

FBI agent Jay Sutherland is visiting a friend in a small mountain town when free spirit Lark asks for help with her injured dog. He is instantly enamored with her, and their one night stand stays with him far into the next morning, though Lark is long gone. When his partner realizes that she is the daughter of The Highwayman, Jay refuses to believe Lark is anything like her father.

What happens when she stops running…

When a trail of dead bodies follows Lark on her cross-country drive, the FBI believes she’s the killer. How can the sweet woman who rescues injured animals and makes him feel things he hasn’t felt in years be a murderer? The bodies don’t lie. Jay knows there’s more at play. If he’s wrong, and Lark is as much a monster as her father, he may be the next target…

*Author's Note: This book contains a sunshiney heroine, a gruff hero, a couple of goofy dogs, some intense action, and begins when a one night stand leads to more...
