3 Surprising Reasons Why You Overeat

By Josie Riviera

Have you noticed that everywhere we go, we are surrounded by food?  Here's 3 reasons why you may be overeating, and how you can curb yourself. Please add to the list and share your comments below.

1.  Is your favorite activity going out to eat? (Mine is!)  Instead of going out to dinner with friends, consider a physical activity--perhaps bowling or roller skating.

2.  Are you eating the correct amount? Read the serving size on the label. You may be surprised to learn you're eating twice the recommended serving size.

3.  Are you eating enough fat? Fat-free foods don't control your appetite. Consider eating more healthy fats like olives, nuts, avocados, and salmon.

Rest and relaxation is important. At the end of the day, grab a cup of tea and curl up with a good book. A perfect read for April, The Seeking Series Box Set is a set of my 3 Christian and Historical Romances. Free on KU!

*Five Star Amazon Reader Reviews are saying:

"I loved this series. I have always enjoyed books featuring the Romany. Each selection is well written with a good plot and and believable characters. I thoroughly enjoy this author’s writing. If you enjoy historical fiction I recommend this set."

  1. I really enjoyed your reasons for overeating. Our society has changed so much and encourages us to overeat. ๐Ÿฐ๐Ÿซ๐Ÿฅง๐Ÿฉ๐Ÿ๐Ÿฒ๐Ÿ›The portions they serve in restaurants is, in my opinion, unnecessary. It doesn’t cost them to much more to add to a meal, but they can raise the price for us. ๐Ÿ˜ก
And look at the things that are fast to grab ๐ŸŒญ๐ŸŒฎ๐Ÿ”๐ŸŸ๐Ÿ—๐Ÿ•,with everyone so busy. ๐Ÿ›ซ๐Ÿšข๐Ÿšœ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ—บ
I think a lot of us turn to comfort food to deal with the things going on in the world.
I was always on the skinny side growing up. Now, 55+, I can’t seem to be able to curve my appetite. And I know it’s not good for me, plus I feel awful.
You are right, we go out to eat more and don’t eat healthy. It reminds me of the story in the book of Daniel. Chapter 1: 6-20. Where the difference of food was evident in the productivity and health of the Israelites from the royal family and the nobility vs the kings men.
I am going to try to eat better. Pray for me.
But in the mean time, I’m going to have a cup of coffee or tea and a good book and injoy the rest of my evening. ๐Ÿ˜‰
Thank you. I enjoyed this article very much. Sure wish I had a group of ladies like all of you!

  3. I needed to lose weight because my knee was aching. I used the Whole 30 diet and since February have lost 17 pounds. You only eat a regular portion of meat and all the fruit and vegetables you want (within reason, of course). I feel 100% better--with more energy. My ultimate goal is 30 pounds total. The key to all this is portion control and avoiding sugars and breads. You are 100% correct, the meal portions in restaurants are ridiculous. I usually take 1/2 home to eat for another meal. Great post.

    1. I've taken home half of my meal from restaurants too, Judy. And I've heard lots of good things about the Whole 30 diet. Fruits and vegetables are always the key.
