How's your spring coming along? What a busy time of year! But then, when aren't we busy? I had a fun week, starting of with a visit to Harry Houdini.
After an hour and a half of sleep, I had to drag my sorry butt out of bed and go to our grandson's school event. They put together a "wax museum" where the students stood as if they were wax characters. In front of each character was a red button made of construction paper. And when you push the red button, the characters would talk.
My grandson was Harry Houdini and he did great. The video is on my personal page on Facebook. It was so cute and fun. Those kids did a lot of work, too. They researched and wrote their own scripts, memorized them, and performed. All the kids in the class did a great job and kudos to their fabulous teacher, too!
So was it worth losing most of my sleeping time? Yes! Of course, I ended up with brain fog and didn't meet my word count for the day, but I'd do it all over again.
My next adventure was making yogurt at home. I know I'm late to the party on this one but making yogurt always seemed such a daunting task that I never wanted to even try. But... well, I got an Instant Pot. They made it sound so easy. And it was! The real surprise was how tasty homemade yogurt is--absolutely wonderful.
I'm not a big yogurt fan, or wasn't, but this stuff is downright good. The first thing I made with it is a strawberry protein drink and man-oh-man was it ever delicious. So I'll be making a batch of yogurt once every week or two until I cork over.
As for Honey Beaulieu, yes, I did finish Blazing Bullets in Deadwood Gulch (Honey Beaulieu - Man Hunter #3)!!! The editor, Elizabeth Flynn, was able to get to it immediately (translation: she worked over the weekend), and I've input the corrections. Beta readers have it now. I'm chewing my fingernails hoping they'll like it.
Currently, I'm writing a book in the Rocky Mountain Romances series called Idaho Fairytale Bride. It's set in Owyhee County and is connected to the Hearts of Owyhee books. Release date is July 14, which means I have to type my fingers to the nubbins.
Keep an eye out! I'll be announcing it first at my Facebook group, the Pickle Barrel Bar and Books, so if you're not a member there, please join! I should get the cover sometime around June 10 and I'll post it there before I post it publicly.
Nine books, all set in the Rocky Mountains, from authors Kristin Holt, Amelia Adams, Jacquie Rogers, Diane Darcy, Carre White, Charlene Raddon, Annette Lyon, Savanna Sage, and Heather Horrocks. All these authors who actually live in the Rocky Mountains come together to bring you this collection of sweet romances beginning on July 10th. To see all the books as they come out, "like" the Rocky Mountain Romances page.
That's it for me. Hope you have a wonderful June, and Happy Reading!
