To be able to tell stories and have readers love them is the best dream come true even though I never dreamed I would some day be an author.Joan Reeveshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17622809465767116747noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1625093777073151860.post-2052431265977087822019-02-21T10:16:13.752-06:002019-02-21T10:16:13.752-06:00Thanks for dropping by, Judy Ann. At the beginning I wrote essays only. I wasn't sure how to transition over to fiction. My first book Journey To Forgiveness was based on a true story, my mother's life. It gave me the nudge I needed to begin writing fiction. Later, in high school, I wanted to be writer and chose journalism in college which offered me a way to write all my life. We can live out those dreams in our stories, through our characters. Isn't that great?Laurean Brookshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06242693739806417138noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1625093777073151860.post-4551062721608455232019-02-20T13:04:17.227-06:002019-02-20T13:04:17.227-06:00Regina, that is the wonderful thing about being a ...Regina, that is the wonderful thing about being a writer. You can live out your childhood dreams with the stroke of a pen (or a keyboard). I think we often give up on our dreams because others think they are too far-fetched.<br />Laurean Brookshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06242693739806417138noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1625093777073151860.post-8992004409199885052019-02-20T13:02:38.413-06:002019-02-20T13:02:38.413-06:00Caroline, I had similar goals. I guess I was missing my own dad. And I too, wanted to be a girl detective. I used to sneak around in the woods following my siblings and hiding behind trees. They never did a thing suspicious for me to report. LOL, but I suppose in some ways I'm doing it through some of my books. I think the really important thing is to not stop dreaming because in lots of ways it's like hoping.Gail Pallottahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05867438154973036168noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1625093777073151860.post-86350158868408812282019-02-20T11:49:28.777-06:002019-02-20T11:49:28.777-06:00Laurean, when I was a teen/young adult, I wanted t...Laurean, when I was a teen/young adult, I wanted to be an interior designer. It still draws me. For some reason I thought I had a better chance at employment as a librarian! LOL But you know what? I can WRITE about being an interior designer, or whatever I want to! All I have to do is a little research! First I was going to ride the range with Roy Rogers, later I was going to be a girl detective like Nancy Drew, then I was going to be a news reporter. I actually was a reporter and feature columnist for a short time, but I'm so glad I decided to write romances. I think this is where I belong.
