My biggest regret is that I was to go over with my Mum and spend time with her so she could visit her homeland once again, and she became to ill to travel. I know in my heart, both my parents were with me in spirit when I've been able to go and stay with my cousin. My Mum was a beautiful lady both inside and out, and my best friend. I miss her terribly. I'm so grateful Northern Ireland War Memorial museum is honoring their memories! thanks again, Caroline!Patty Koontzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07450984773126765980noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1625093777073151860.post-44872707390489996882020-06-29T15:23:12.380-05:002020-06-29T15:23:12.380-05:00Thanks Judy, for stopping by and commenting! I loved listening to my Mum talk about her family, and wish I could have met my grandparents and learned more, as well. We had intended to go back and rent a cottage for a month but health concerns will prevent that dream. I'm so glad we got to travel there when we did. We've watched "The Quiet Man" so many times we know all the dialogue--but we still love the movie. We had lunch at the B&B where Maureen O'Hara stayed during the filming. Patty's mom sounds like a lovely person, as does her dad. Yes and she had a beautiful heart to match. I have to agree as I believe many people take our freedom for granted. She loved this country as much as her original home. The photographs are wonderful. Your mum was a beautiful woman.
