Romances being about relationships naturally do revolve around the preparing of food in one place or another. I remember those old kitchens so fondly, but they weren't as practical as ours today. And yes, the wine factors in ;)

In Going Home, but a lot of my other books, campfire cooking happens too. There is nothing like an open fire when out in the wilderness.Rainhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10848224790511034144noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1625093777073151860.post-81134897346188271472015-09-22T10:04:51.841-05:002015-09-22T10:04:51.841-05:00Your post brought back warm memories of family mea...Your post brought back warm memories of family meals around my grandmother's kitchen table. It seems to me that people still gather in the kitchen. Any time we've had a group over to our house, they end up standing around the kitchen island instead of sitting in the living room in comfortable chairs. Of course, the kitchen is where we keep the wine!Sandra Nachlingerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16906884446237370105noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1625093777073151860.post-66999023948359459632015-09-22T07:51:24.760-05:002015-09-22T07:51:24.760-05:00You reminded me of my grandmother's large kitc...You reminded me of my grandmother's large kitchen and the round oak table there. I loved that old farmhouse but she was relieved when she and my grandfather moved to town. I would be too, for the farmhouse didn't have indoor plumbing. The house in town had modern conveniences. What a relief that must have been. I am glad she kept the big round table in town. We always gathered there, as you said in your post.
